“YOU GOT TO BE CAREFULLY TAUGHT”

August 29, 2010

What is this nonsense that all Muslims are terrorists and/or Talibans? I know two people who are Muslims and aren’t terriorsts or member of the Tailbans.  I mean one man who I know now is a Muslim is the husband of a Christan woman. The other Muslim I know doesn’t even wear a hijab or any other “supposed” religious wear and she knows it is just cultural. I mean any reglion could be a terriost and yet we deliberately target Muslims. I mean if a Christian or Jew was a terriost the newspapers wouldn’t state they were Christians.  I mean according to my research, Christians and Jews are descend from Abraham’s child by his wife Sarah. Muslims are descended from Abraham’s other child, Ishmael

How is being attracted to the same sex “evil”?  I mean do we NOT eat shell food? Do we NOT wear mixed clothing? DO we sell our children into slavery? DO males have multiple wives in the western world?

I mean does it really matters what you look like, or where you are in the world? What really matters is what inside of you.

The song which is the title of this blog article in Rogers and Hammerstein’s SOUTH PACIFIC sums it up perfectly.

You got to be taught/to hate and fear/you got to be taught/from year to year/ its got to be drummed in your dear little ear/you have to be carefully taught/you got to be taught/ to be afraid/ of people whose eyes are oddly made/and people whose skin is a different shade/you got to be carefully taught/you have to be taught/ before its too late/before you are six or seven or eight/you got to be carefully taughttttttttttttt!

I mean I grew up with with 2 families that were mixed families. A classmate of mine and my cousins. I also know a person who is gay and I am fine with that stuff.

Years in Harry Potter

August 29, 2010

Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington b?-October 31, 1492 (year on death-day cake, Chamber of Secerts, Deathday Chapter)

Albus Dumbledore born July or August 1881-early June of 1997

1936 or 37- Went to vist Tom Marvlo Riddle (the future Voldemort) at the Muggle Orphange

1945-Defeated Grindwald

Abforth D. 1883-? (Hog’s Head barkeeper)

Ariana  D (b. 1885 -d. 1889)

When Ariana was 6  some Muggle boys who saw her do magic and tramuizeed her.  The father was put in Azkban the wizard jail, for hexing the boys. She wouldn’t do magic, but couldn’t get rid of it (because she couldn’t control it, she had frequent outbursts of magic) After the attack  Mrs. Dumbledore moved the family to Godric’s Hollow  where everyone thought she was a Squib (oppsite of a Muggle-born witch/wizard).  In 1864, Mrs. Dumbledore was killed by one of Adrina’s out-of-control magic. So that left Albus as the head of the family who was forced to stay with Adrina so Abforth could finish his education (despite the fact that Abforth offered to stay at home since Adrina would calm down for him). Sometime during Albus’ time as Adrian’s guardian  Gellert Grindelwald came to Godric Hollow to stay with his aunt , Bathilda Bagshot, having been kicked out of Durmstrang Institute for his extreme experiments with the Dark Arts. Albus and Grindelwald were planned on taking over the wizarding world and make the Muggles subservient “for the greater good.”. Abforth put a stop to the plans since Adrina was in no condition to be moved which made Grindelwald mad and a three-way duel brokeout between Gridwelwald, Albus and Abforth which Adrina got caught in the cross-fire and died when trying to stop her out-of-control magic. “The flashing lights and the bangs set her off, she couldn’t stand it… and I think she wanted to help, but she didn’t really know what she was doing, and I don’t know which of us did it, it could have been any of us – and she was dead.”-Abforth Dumbeldore.

Tom Marvlo Riddle (b Decemember 31, 1926,-d. May 2, 1998)  pure-blood Mom. Merope  Gaunt ( c. 1907-1926).  Father  Tom Riddle Sr. (Muggle)-b.?-d summer of 1943  Sometime around the 1920 Merope was moping for Tom Riddle the handsome Muggle lad in Little Hangton-the local town. After her dad, Marvlo, and her brother, Morfin, were imprionzed for attacking a Minstry Offical, Merope bewitched and married Tom Riddle. When she thought Tom Riddle would love her back Merope dropped the Love Potion but Tom abandoned her and their unborn son.  She died after giving birth to Tom Marvlo Riddle (named after his dad, and grandpa). Note: the Gaunt side is how Tom Marvlo Riddle is connected to Slytherin.

In 1937  Dumledore came to vist Tom Marvlo Riddle and tell him he was a wizard. Tom Jr. thought his dad was a wizard because his mom couldn’t be a witch because if she had been one she would have used magic to stay with him.  Even at this time he was afraid of death and knew  he could talk to snakes.

1937 -1941 (?)-he discovered the Chamber of Secerts and his connection to the Syltherin bloodline.

1942-1943 the 1st time Chamber of Secerts was opened and than closed (after framing Rubeus Hagrid). Also around the sametime he asked Professor Slughorn about  Horcruxes. That summer he killed his “filthy” Muggle  father and grandparents and framed his Uncle Morfin by planting a fake memory (he took the ring from him too-YES, THE RING that makes Dumbledore’s hand black&injuried).

Tom described the way he was seen as “poor, but brilliant, parentless, but so brave, a school Prefect, a model student.” This opinion was also shared by the professors.  The sole exception to this was Albus Dumbledore, who was, at that time, Professor of Transfiguration. Dumbledore remained suspicious about Tom’s true nature; Tom, in turn, despised and feared Dumbledore.

1945-he graduted from Hogwarts and started working as Borkin an Burkes from then-? when he disappered from view. When he came back he asked for Dumbledore, who was, then, the Headmaster for Hogwarts, for the DADA postion. It was after this meeting the DADA postion become cursed.

1981 After hearing half of a prophey fall from power after killing James and Lilly Potter but not being able to kill Little Harry Potter.

James, Remus, Sirus, Peter, Snape, and Lily (Neville parents?)  went to school from 1971-1978. James and Lily  married probably in summer of ’78. all 5 (and Snape later) of them supposedly joined the orignal Order of the Phoniex.

I hate the fact WB changed the HP books in their HP moves!!

August 7, 2010

I will start from movie 1 and onwards

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

  1. no Peeves or Professor Binns
  2. No meeting between Harry and Draco at Madame Min`s Robes for All Occasions shop
  3. The explaintion of how James and Lilly really died (NOT a car crash).
  4. the Cerbus scene is moved  to after the troll scene so Hermione`s line of  “I hope you’re pleased with yourselves. We could all have been killed – or worse, expelled. Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to bed.”  doesn`t make sense in that spot.
  5. detion scene+reason for dention and whom has dentioned (book: Harry&Hermione forget Harry`s invisbilty cloak on the astromy tower because of giving Norbet to friends of Ron`s second-oldest brother, Charlie and Neville was just trying to protect them from Draco).¸
  6. Snape`s potion task and Quirrel`s troll (

Movie 2

Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secerts

  1. its a pudding, not cake that Dobby moves
  2. Lockhart making no annocument of beeing new DODA
  3. No fight between Lucis Malfoy and Arthur Weasly
  4. Snape is the one who finds Ron and Harry after the Whomping Willow (movie its Finch)
  5. In the book its Binns who tells the lengend of Chambers of Secert ( Minvera does it in the film)
  6. The book  that has Polyjucie potion in it is not in a rescrited section  but on a shelf like a “regular book” not to mention the effects too of the Polyjuice potion <
  7. 2 lines of Ron`s are made into Hermione`s lines (aka explain about “Mudblood” beening an insult and about hearing voices aren`t a good sign even in the wizarding world)
  8. In the book, Harry and Ron find out that Ginny had been taken into the Chamber of Secrets while hiding in a wardrobe in the teachers` staff room
  9. In the book Fawkes heals Harry BEFORE he destories Riddle`s diary in the movie its afters

Prionser of Azakban

  1. Harry shouldn`t be practising magic
  2. The Maruder`s Map history
  3. Sirus`s background  is cut and so is mention about (Fidelius Charm)
  4. NO “shruken heads” in the book nor was The Three Broomsticks pub closed.
  5. Cedric (in the movie unname HufflePuff player) is shot down by lighting in the movie in the book Harry falls down because of Demonters and than he thought he saw “The GRIM” (Sirus`s anigmus) so HufflePuffle won
  6. Wearing street clothes all the time and also the fact of no invisbilty cloak during the trip to Hagrid`s (also there was no “wild ride” on the Whomping Willow” tree
  7. Harry got the Firebolt in book at Chirstmas time and Hermione rattle on it while in the movie it happens at the end.
  8. Crookshanks (Hermione`s new cat)` role in the movie
  9. The hosility of Snape toward Harry because of  Harry`s dad James and a joke from Sirus
  10. During this scene in the film, Harry tries to protect Black from theDementors  all by himself. In the book, Harry asks Hermione to help him create a Patronus. Soon after his request, he feels Hermione faint and realizes that he is alone and must fight to save all of them
  11. There is a scene in the film where Potter attacks Snape by trying to disarm him through use of the ‘expelliarmus’ spell. You see Snape get hit by a bolt and thrown into a bed; unconscious. In the book, Snape is knocked unconscious as he is thrown against a wall accidently. At the same moment, both Harry, Hermione and Ron use the ‘expelliarmus’ spell on Snape, and it is said that Hermione’s spell was more powerful; causing Snape to be knocked back instead of just disarmed.

GoF

  1. when Harry wakes up from his nightmare (which shouws who is actually personinating Mad Eye)  in the book he is at the Dursleys`when in the movie is at the Weasly`s
  2. Winky`s role is cut she doesn`t even APPEAR and Harry isn`t knocked unconcious the “Golden Trio” all hear the Death Eater`s mark words
  3. Hermione`s S.P.E.W. the Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare campgain (promoted by Dobby who doesn`t even APPEAR in this movie)-so they use Neville instead and the book (the pretend Mad-Eye uses)
  4. Barty Crouch Jr’s existence is not revealed until the final part of the book. He is not mentioned until between the Second and Third Tasks, when Harry sees him on trial in the Pensieve. In that memory, he has already been caught as a Death Eater and is brought to trial, here he is not as open about his guilt as he is in the film, even begging his father to show him mercy.

OotP

  1. trying to hide in the flowerbeds of Petunia’s to listen to news
  2. Mugdanus role’s is cut from the film (mabye WB or director thought it would give kids a bad idea?)
  3.  3 letters (4 come to the house alone- 3 to Harry 1 to Petiuna) come to Harry in the book 1) saying he is expelled (He lets it slips about being expelled and Petiuna also lets it slip that she heard of Dementors before  2) 1 each come from Arthur Weasly and Sirus 3) saying he has to face a displinary hearing.
  4.  the 4th letter is a Howler to Petunia warning her about some “Remember my last”
  5. reason for the Dursleys’ leaving the house differs in the book vs. the movie (book thought they were going to ” All-England Best-Kept Suburban Lawn Competition, but none such event exists. It was sent by the Order just to get them out of the house) when in the movie it was the same night as the Dementors’s attack and Veron and Petunia taking Dudley to the hospital
  6. Bill and Fleur: A minor storyline  that is left out of the movie number 1): Eldest Weasley sibling Bill and his relationship with Fleur Delacour. Fleur is from the Beauxbatons school and was one of the champions who competed against Harry in the Triwizard Tournament in Goblet of Fire. At the beginning of the book, Bill is there at Order headquarters and we find out that he’s Bill is back from his job in Egypt and is now working a desk job. A relationship between Bill and Fleur is implied, as Fred tells the group that Bill’s been giving Fleur private English lessons. 2 minor storyline left out is this: Percy Weasley: Another storyline omitted from the movie: Another Weasley son, the ambitious Percy, who works for the Ministry of Magic, has excommunicated his family. Percy has sided with his boss, Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic who’s made it clear to his employees that anyone siding with Dumbledore (thereby believing that Lord Voldemort has returned) would be out of a job. Percy eventually writes a letter to Ron warning him to sever all ties with Harry Potter and NOT to follow the path of his parents and other siblings.
  7. Scourgify: While at the headquarters, the book goes into detail about how the members of the Order have been trying to “scourgify” (clean up) the house, which belonged to Sirius Black’s family. There’s parts where they are trying to get rid of boggarts (shape-shifters that take the form of their victim’s worst fear) and the paintings of Black’s ancestors on the walls are making derogatory comments at them. In the book, Kreacher, the house-elf bound to the Black family, has a lot of dialogue, where he openly disapproves of the Order members taking over the house.
  8. Black Family Tree: The movie does have a scene where Sirius shows Harry the tapestry of the Black family tree and explains why he was disowned by his family (they were pure-blood wizards who THOUGHT Voldermort had the right idea but didn’t like the killing bit), while Sirius aligned himself with Dumbledore and had mixed-blood friends). The book goes into detail as to what Black’s mother was like and about other relatives that were disowned (turns out Tonks was too — she’s Sirius’s cousin). It also explains why the Order can’t get rid of certain items in the house (Black’s mom put a lot of sticking charms on these items; also, Kreacher keeps taking the items out of the trash).
  9. Kingsley Shacklebolt: In the book, we find out that not only is Kingsley Shacklebolt a member of the Order, but he also works at the Ministry of Magic and is the person in charge of finding Sirius Black, who is still “at large” for his escape from Azkaban (we learned in Prisoner of Azkaban that he was convicted of killing Harry’s parents James and Lily, even though it was really Voldmort who did it. But it was really Peter Pettigrew’s fault) It’s Shacklebolt who keeps the investigation in limbo by passing on false information about Sirius’s whereabouts, hence the reason why Sirius has not yet been caught. Even so, Sirius must stay hidden at headquarters and cannot even go out as Padfoot, the dog he’s able to transform into (he’s an Animagus) because it’s assumed that people are aware of his capabilities by now.
  10.  In the movie, Mr. Weasley brings Harry to the disciplinary hearing at the Ministry of Magic (Mr. Weasley works in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts division). The movie does a great job of bringing us into this magic place and the hearing goes along much like the events in the book (though the book, of course, has a lengthier hearing). There’s extra information about the MoM building and all of its floors and we see an area for Auror HeadquarterIn the film, we see there’s a breakout in Azkaban, which frees Bellatrix Lestrange. The book explains the prison break and talks about the nine other prisoners who escaped and why they were in Azkaban to begin with. The night before the escape, Harry gets the sense that Lord Voldemort is the happiest he’s been in 14 years. The next day is when he finds out the convicted Death Eaters escaped. The Ministry blames Sirius Black for the breakouts
  11. In the book we see the “Woes of Mrs.  Molly Weasly” (her woes are seeing her family and Harry dead)
  12.  The gang at headquarters celebrates Harry’s acquittal; talk about how Fudge is in league with Lucius Malfoy (a known Death Eater), especially after Malfoy and Fudge are seen together at the Ministry of Magic after Harry’s hearing; a discussion about how Sirius wants Harry to remain with him at headquarters and how Sirius sometimes thinks that Harry is actually James (who was best friends with Sirius); a debate about S.P.E.W; talk about everyone’s new classes and schoolbooks and pondering who would be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher this year (a position that appears to be cursed); talk of how Harry gave George and Fred his Triwizard Tournament winnings to open their joke shop, and that is still being kept from Mrs. Weasley; Ron and Hermione getting their Prefect notices, but Harry doesn’t get one (a storyline left out of the movie completely); Ron getting a new broom from his parents as a reward for making Prefect; Harry’s internal resentment of his friends for making Prefect, something he should have gotten and yet another thing that makes him an outcast from his friends. In this chapter, we learn that Tonks, James, and Sirius never made Prefect (because they were always in detention), but Lupin did. Ron’s appointing makes him the fourth Weasley child to make Prefect (all of the sons made it except for the troublemaking twins George and Fred). One scene in the movie from this chapter is Harry seeing the photo of the original Order of the Phoenix from 15 years prior, which included many people killed by Voldemort and his followers, including his own parents. In the film, it’s Sirius who shows Harry the photo; in the book, it’s Moody and we learn the names of everyone in the photo — which includes Dumbledore’s brother Aberforth.
  13.  Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Fred, and George take the Hogwarts Express to get to the school. In the film, there’s a quick view of them on the train and Harry has a short altercation with Draco Malfoy. In the book, it’s on this ride that they meet up with Luna Lovegood, the quirky little blonde girl whose father is the editor of The Quibbler. Harry, Ginny, and Neville Longbottom ride in the train car with Luna while Ron and Hermione do their Prefect duties. Neville talks about his love of Herbology and accidentally squirts Harry with the juice of a Mimbulus mimbletonia cactus. The juice, which smells like “rancid manure,” drenches Harry just as his crush Cho Chang stops by to say hello to him. Also, it’s on this ride that we find out that Draco Malfoy has also made Prefect and is already harassing the first-years with his new position.
  14. It typically sings a tune describing the different qualities it looks for and its rule of sorting. This time, the Hat gives advice and warnings and goes so far as to say, “For our Hogwarts is in danger, From external deadly foes’ (and Umbride’s lenghty speech that in Hermione’s words are: “The Ministry is interferring at Hogwarts)
  15. Harry and Luna: In the movie, Harry and Luna have a conversation in the forest. Luna tells him that Voldemort wants him to feel isolated from everyone because that way he’s not as much of a threat. They talk about the black horses that only they can see (actually, only people who have seen death can see them) called Thestrals. This scene is not in the book, but the Thestrals are explained during Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures class (one that Umbridge comes to evaluate him). Also, in the movie, after the Hogwarts train ride, Harry and Luna shared a ride up to the school and only the two of them could see the winged-horses pulling the cart (though, in the book, Neville is supposed to be able to see them, but he doesn’t seem to be able to in the movie).
  16. Quidditch: The sport is completely gone from the film. In the book, Harry is back on the team and this time, Ron is on it too. This is a big deal and comes into play in their relationship. Ron is a good player, but he messes up a lot when he’s nervous. Some of his disastrous moments prompt the other team (Slytherin) to mock him with chants of “Weasley is our King.”
  17. Banned For Life: At one point, Harry (and one of the Weasly Twins the OTHER twin also got banned despite the fact he was beening held back by the new captian and some other female) gets into so much trouble (Malfoy’s fault making fun of the Weaslys’ family and eventually Harry’s parents) with Umbridge that she bans him for life from playing Quidditch and takes their brooms, keeping the brooms locked up in the school’s dungeon
  18. s: As fifth-years, Ron, Hermione, and Harry have to study for these tests, the score of which will decide whether they can continue to study a certain course. The film does very little to show the importance of these tests and how studying for them takes up most of the students’ time. There’s an entire chapter devoted to the O.W.L. examinations and it goes into how Harry did on certain exams and how the students prepped for them. Most importantly, Harry, who wants to be an Auror when he graduates, must get high marks in several subjects to do this. This makes all the suffering he goes through this year even worse, because his studies are so much harder.
  19. Cho getting upset about Cedric 24/7 whenever she is with Harry.
  20. Cho’s friend’s character is cut from the film and they made Cho the snitch who told about the DA
  21. Not shown in the film is Kreacher’s involvement in tricking Harry into going to the Ministry of Magic to rescue Sirius (see more on this in section “To Rescue Sirius”). It’s also revealed in the book that Kreacher injuries Buckbeak, the hippogriff that’s living at the Order headquarters (in Prisoner of Azbakan, Buckbeak is supposed to be put to death, but  Harry, and Hermione help the hippogriff escape, then Sirius — also wanted — rides off with Buckbeak) the book, it is during the O.W.L. for History of Magic that Harry gets the dream that Voldemort has Sirius at the Department of Mysteries. Harry tries to use the Floo Network in the fireplace in Umbridge’s office to contact Sirius, but is caught. In the book, he’s able to contact the Order headquarters, but no one is there but the house-elf Kreacher. Kreacher tricks Harry by telling him that Sirius is at the Ministry of Magic, which is what makes Harry so determined to get there. In the movie, Kreacher is never seen again after his initial appearances at the headquarters of the Order. .
  22. Again Dobby’s role is cut and the mention/discovery of the ROR is again give to Neville (despite the fact that ROR was mention in the 4th book my Albus Dumbledore)
  23. Grawp: In the book, the first time Hagrid reveals his half-brother Grawp, a 16-feet-tall Giant, to Harry and Hermione while Ron is playing in a Quidditch match. In the film, this happens when Hagrid returns from visiting the Giants and Ron is with them, too.
  24. Centaurs: The meeting with the centaurs does not happen on film. On their way out of the forest, Hagrid, Hermione, and Harry run into the centaurs, who are still angry that one of their own, Firenze, took a job with Dumbledore at the school. The centaur Bane allows them to pass, because Hagrid has children with him (“they are innocents” he says, and that they do not harm foals). But Hagrid is no longer welcome in the forest (he helped Firenze escape his herd when they were attacking him). That means Hagrid can’t go back to be with his brother leaving Ron, Hermione “Hermy” and Harry to deal with Grawp.
  25. Attack on Mr. Weasley: Harry dreams that Mr. Weasley is attacked by a snake. We learn that this really occurred and thanks to Harry, Mr. Weasley is gotten to in time to be taken to the hospital. In the film, next we hear about this, Mr. Weasley is home from the hospital and doing fine. In the book, there’s a confrontation between Sirius and the Weasley twins, because Fred and George feel like their father is always at risk doing things for the Order, while Sirius stays in hiding. Later, a bunch of them dress as Muggles and go to visit Mr. Weasley at St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. On another trip to the hospital, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny see Neville and his grandmother there, who are visiting Neville’s parents (his parents have been there since he was a baby and were put there after the Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange inflicted the Cruciatus Curse on them). Also, they see their former Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart.
  26. It becomes apparent that the Dark Lord is trying to penetrate Harry’s thoughts (through Legilimency), so Snape gives Harry lessons in Occlumency — the magic of sealing your mind against magical influence and intrusion. It’s implied that Harry and Snape only have one lesson before Harry is able to penetrate Snape’s mind and see his father James bullying Snape when they were Hogwarts students. Angered by the intrusion to his own thoughts, Snape ends the lessons completely. In the book, the two have many lessons together and they were held in secret once a week. Harry has to tell everyone he’s taking Remedial Potions. It’s during one of these sessions that Harry realizes that the corridor and door he’s been dreaming about all year is one that leads to the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic (and this is where the prophecies are kept, including the one that the Dark Lord is looking for). Also, it’s at the Order headquarters that Snape tells Harry about starting up the lessons. Sirius is there at the time and he gets into an argument with Snape. Sirius tells Snape that he doesn’t believe he’s reformed and that he still follows the Dark Lord.
  27. Dumbledore’s Pensieve It is through the pensieve that Harry is able to find out Snape’s embarrassing memories from when he was a teenager which show Harry’s father James bullying Snape. In the film, it appears that Harry’s able to see these memories during an Occlumency lesson. In the book, it’s been months of lessons with Snape, and Harry at one point is left alone in Snape’s office. He comes across a pensieve there and it’s while looking into it that Harry sees events from when Snape was a student at Hogwarts. He sees many memories of his father bullying Snape, with the encouragement of Sirius. But, he also sees his mother Lily, who comes to Snape’s defense and she even tells James, “You make me SICK.” In the memory, even though she defended him, Snape tells Lily he doesn’t need help from a “mudblood” like her. Snape then catches Harry with the pensieve and that’s when he tells Harry never to return to his office again
  28. Not in the film, but Harry meets Hermione and Luna there on Valentine’s Day (after his argument with Cho). The girls are with reporter Rita Skeeter (this is the reporter from GoF who’s an unregistered Animagus who can take the form of a beetle. It’s in her beetle form that she was able to eavesdrop on people, then print the stories). Hermione made a deal (blackmail) with Rita, who will interview Harry and print the truth about the Dark Lord’s return and Luna’s dad will publish it in The Quibbler, and the kids agree NOT to report Rita as an unregistered Animagus. The next day, the interview is published and everyone at Hogwarts finally gets to read about Harry’s version of events. Cho reads the piece and apologizes to Harry saying that he was very brave.
  29.  This is the part in the movie where Snape is called on to supply Umbridge with the truth serum Veritaserum, but he says she used up the last of it on Cho. In the book, Snape says she’s used the last of it on Harry (she put it in his tea to try and get from him the whereabouts of Dumbledore and Sirius, but he knew better than to drink it). An important tidbit is revealed in the book at this time: Umbridge admits that she was actually the one who sent the Dementors to attack Harry in Little Whinging. (She is an employee of the MoM, and since the dementors are under the Ministry’s control, she had access to them.) In both mediums, Umbridge then decides to use the Cruciatus Curse on Harry, but Hermione stops her by saying that they have a weapon hidden in the forest. The two of them bring Umbridge into the forest, while Ron, Neville, Ginny, and Luna are left behind under the guard of the Inquisitorial Squad. In the forest, they meet the hostile Centaurs. Umbridge insults them and they drag her away, and the kids make a getaway when Grawp appears. In the book, the centaurs are also about to attack Harry and Hermione. Hermione tries to talk her way out of it, but it only makes the centaurs angrier. Grawp arrives and the centaurs attack him with arrows and that’s when Harry and Hermione get away.
  30. After escaping from Umbridge, Harry and Hermione meet up with Ron, Luna, Neville, and Ginny. In the movie, Luna suggests they ride to London to go rescue Sirius at the Ministry of Magic. She does this in the book too, saying that they can get there on the Thestrals, but the magical winged-horses don’t just appear so easily. It takes a while, but thanks to the blood on Hermione and Harry (from when the centaurs attack Grawp in the forest), the Thestrals arrive (we learned in the book during Hagrid’s class that they are attracted by the smell of blood, thinking it’s a fresh kill for them to eat). While only Harry, Luna, and [in the book] Neville can see the Thestrals, all of the children ride one each. Ron has some trouble riding them and is glad when they get to London (and vows to never ride them again).
  31. In the book, the gang must get into the Ministry of Magic. Harry brings them to the visitor’s entrance (the phone booth we see him and Mr. Weasley use in the film to get to Harry’s hearing) and tells the person closest to the receiver to dial “62442″ (M-A-G-I-C). The automated voice asks him to state his name and business, and Harry replies with everyone’s names with their business being “We’re here to save someone …” Six visitor passes are issued, and we see that Harry’s reads, “HARRY POTTER, RESCUE MISSION.” This part doesn’t happen in the movie. After the ride there, the group is seen heading into the Department of Mysteries.
  32.  Harry grabs the prophecy with his name on it and Lucius Malfoy appears to try and get it from him. That’s when we see Bellatrix, who mocks Harry and his friends. In the book, Bellatrix tries to get the prophecy from Harry. When she can’t, she threatens to torture Ginny and Harry protective steps in front of Ginny.
  33. Half-Blood Dark Lord: In the book, Harry tries to distract Lucius by telling him that Voldemort was a half-blood, whose father was a Muggle.
  34. The Death Eaters: While Death Eaters are shown at the final battle at the Department of Mysteries, the audience isn’t privy to who they are, besides Lucius and Bellatrix. In the book, it’s told that Nott, Jugson, Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange, Dolohov, Crabbe, Macnair, Avery, Rookwood, and Mulciber are the hooded Death Eaters there.

35. Much like the book, Harry and his friends try to battle the Death Eaters, but are quickly losing. In the book, the children are seriously harmed in the battle, which goes on for a lengthy time, while the movie makes it seem like they only suffered a few scrapes.\

36.  In the movie, the members of the Order arrive to take over the battle with the Death Eaters. Dumbledore arrives there later on to fight Voldemort. In the book, Dumbledore is already there fighting the Death Eaters when Voldemort arrives in the end.

37. After the Order members arrive, in the book, Harry attempts to gather his injured friends and get them to safety. He gives his prophecy to Neville, who drops and breaks it after a Death Eater attack. In the movie, Harry’s friends aren’t badly injured, so Harry stays to try and fight first alongside Sirius, then with Dumbledore; here, it’s Lucius Malfoy who accidentally breaks his prophecy right after the members of the Order arrive and Sirius attacks him (“Get away from my Godson,” Sirius tells Lucius in one of the coolest scenes in the film).

38. Just at a moment where it seemed like Sirius was winning the battle, Bellatrix appears and casts the killing curse on him. Harry then chases her to the entrance hall and hits her with the Cruciatus curse. In the book, she tells him he is incapable of inflicting torture. They have a brief conversation prior to Voldemort’s arrival and she attempts to get the prophecy from him, but it’s already been smashed. This is the point where Voldemort shows up at the scene and tries to hit Harry with the Avada Kedavra curse. Dumbledore appears and brings the nearby golden statue to life and moves it in front of Harry to block the spell. In the movie, Voldemort is the one who encourages Harry to torture Bellatrix, then tells Harry that he can’t make the curse work because he’d have “to mean it.” This is when Dumbledore arrives to battle Voldemort in the movie. He’s not there before when the Order members are fighting the Death Eaters and the enchanted statue is not involved.

39.  During the battle at the Department of Mysteries, Fawkes helps Dumbledore by swallowing the Avada Kedavra curse Voldemort casts. Fawkes then bursts into flames and a baby phoenix is seen rising from the ashes.

40.In the movie, Bellatrix appears to Disapparate while Dumbledore battles Voldemort. After the battle, Voldemort possesses Harry, telling him that he “will lose everything.” Harry fights him off, and Voldemort then Disapparates just as Fudge and his staff arrive to see a glimpse of the Dark Lord. In the book, this happens the same (though the possession is much shorter), except Voldemort takes Bellatrix with him when he Disapparates and there’s a few pages of Fudge asking questions about the events of the evening. Dumbledore answers some of them, then tells Fudge to make some changes (like removing Umbridge from Hogwarts).

41. Harry’s anger This is not portrayed in the movie at all, but the day after the big battle, Harry is extremely angry with Dumbledore for distancing himself from Harry all year (Dumbledore explains that it was to protect him) and goes so far as to smash some of Dumbledore’s possessions. They argue over Sirius and no matter how humble Dumbledore tries to be, Harry is still furious. It takes a long time for him to calm down and to listen to what Dumbledore has to say. (it would have been nice to see Raddclife act VERY angry at Dumbledore)

42. The Chosen One: Dumbledore tells Harry at the end of the book that Voldemort did not know who the “chosen one” would be to rise up against him with the power to defeat him — Harry or Neville Longbottom. Dumbledore speculates that because Harry was half-blood like the Dark Lord, Voldemort chose him, thereby creating his own adversary who could defeat him. The prophecy states that one cannot live while the other one survives. Dumbledore also explains that the prophecy with Harry’s name on it was renamed so after Voldemort tried to kill him as an infant, because it was then assumed by the keeper of the hall of prophecies that it must be about Harry. In the film, Dumbledore explains the prophecy to Harry, but the part about Neville and the renaming is excluded.

43. In the movie, Dumbledore apologizes to Harry for the mistakes he made throughout the year by not confiding in him. In the book, Dumbledore goes on to explain how Kreacher tricked Harry and how Snape was the one who alerted the Order when Harry never returned from the forest with Umbridge. While the rest of the Order went to look at the Department of Mysteries for Harry, Snape went to look for him in the forest.

44. In the book, this is when Dumbledore tells Harry why he’s had to live with his Aunt and Uncle at Privet Drive all these years. He explains that because Harry’s mother died at the hands of Voldemort in an effort to save her son, Harry was protected by ancient magic — a mother’s love. That is why Dumbledore chose to leave Harry with his mother’s sister. He believed their shared blood would protect Harry, and even though his Aunt didn’t really want to take him in, she did it anyway, which sealed the charm protecting Harry. “While you can still call home the place where your mother’s blood dwells, there you cannot be touched or harmed by Voldemort,” Dumbledore tells Harry. Harry only has to return to that house once a year for the protection to continue and his Aunt knows this, which is why she let Harry stay at the beginning of the book.

45. In the book, Harry and his friends board the Hogwarts Express back to their respective homes. On the train, Harry is ambushed by Draco Malfoy and his friends (who previously threatened him at the school, saying “You’re dead Potter”), but they do so right where D.A. members are sitting, so they come to Harry’s rescue

46. The Order is there at the station to talk to the Dursleys

Half-Blood Prince

What happens after Sirius Black’s death? Harry inherits the house (and Kreacher, the house elf). While they were cleaning in Order of Phoenix a locket was “thrown out” — the same locket Harry and Dumbledore got from the cave.2. Doby (the Malfay’s old house elf) has not been in the movies since Chamber of Secrets yet was featured in Goblet of Fire, Order of Phoenix, Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows. Doby and Harry had a special relationship that provides a turning point in Deathly Hallows.3. Fleur (Goblet of Fire) and Bill (Ron’s brother) are engaged, but Bill was savaged by Fenrir Greyback in the battle below the Astronomy Tower when Dumbledore was above having his conversation with Draco and then Dumbledore’s death. Bill and Fleur’s wedding is supposed to be at the Burrow in the next book.

    4. Hagrid planned Aragog’s funeral and invited Harry who used it to get the memory from Slughorn.

    5. Hermione’s birds attacked Ron as the other poster said, but to me that wasn’t a big deal.

    6. The biggest OMG, why didn’t they include that moment — not showing Dumbledore’s funeral or the meeting in the Headmaster’s office with the Minister of Magic.

    7. Harry and Ginny had a relationship for months during the school year, not just the one kiss.

    8. Most of people (who knew Tom Riddle)’s memories (which would have explained about Horcuxes) been cut down to 3 instead of the 7 in the book
    9) in the book Malfoy uses a Polyjuice Crabbe&Goyle.
    10) the 2nd “offical” battle of the second war (but with way more people)
    11) Harry DOES NOT drink the entire Felix Felic in the book (going to Hagrid’s about hte spider from book 2’s death) he only drinks a small amount and gives the rest to the DA (only Hermione, Ron, Luna, &Neville-using the coins from book 5).
    12) potions book is not hidden by Ginny in the book  it was hidden by Harry
    13) In the book, the flaw in Horace Slughorn’s plan to hide himself was that he forgot to cast the Dark Mark. In the film, the flaw is the blood on the ceiling, which Dumbledore identified as Dragon blood.

          14) In the book Horace Slughorn was said to have a big silver moustache like a walrus and was supposed to be quite large, both are changed for the movie.

      15) the Burrow is in the SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Wrong place for it. It should not be in a swamp it should be on the opposie side of a hill from a village. Also there WAS no attack on the Burrow in the book) There is no scene where the Owls bring the examination results; the first reference to Harry’s exam results comes when Professor McGonagall informs him (in the Hogwarts corridor) that he may take potions as he had exceeded expectations in this subject.

16)  Diagon Alley is almost completely boarded up and vacated. The only life to be seen comes from Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes Joke Shop. The “U-No-Poo” posters are not mentioned. However, there is a statuesque, moving sign of a typical Muggle-like magician lifting a top hat to reveal a rabbit. The sign is over a story tall. There is no mention of how the Weasley’s were able to open the store because of the winning prize of the Triwizard Tournament held two years before, especially since the part of them receiving it was also cut in a previous film. The scene where the trio meets the Malfoys in Madam Malkin’s (and promptly fight) is neither shown or mentioned. In the book, when Ron asks his brothers for a discount at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, Fred and George knock one knut off the price of his merchandise. In the film, they double the price from five galleons to ten.

17. Draco does not sneak off on his own and talk to Mr. Borgin about fixing the cabinet, but instead goes with his mom and several Death Eaters. Harry, Ron, and Hermione do not follow him under the cloak and use extendable ears, and Hermione does not try to trick Mr. Borgin into telling her what Draco is reserving. Borgin and Burkes appears with a sign without the ‘s’ at the end of Burkes. There is a WANTED poster of Fenrir Greyback in Knockturn Alley. The trio climbs the dilapidated roof of an abandoned building to witness Draco being shown one half of the pair of vanishing cabinets, instead of listening to Malfoy about wanting to fix something, from the beginning they know that the object that Draco wants is the vanishing cabinet, the cursed necklace is not mentioned nor seen. The cabinet is triangular-shaped and monolith in size. There is no mention of fake amulets, etc. being sold, or of Mr. Weasley’s promotion.

17. The Slug Club’s first meeting does not take place at Slughorn’s compartment in the Hogwarts Express, but at Slughorn’s office in Hogwarts. The Slytherin end of the Hogwarts Express is split into two sides, not compartments as had been seen in previous films. It looks like booths with a table in between them. There is no door to close as had been in previous films. The compartments where Harry, Ron, and Hermione sit are similar to what was in previous films, with the sliding doors. The Hogwarts Express is shown to have five coaches, instead of the usual four coaches as shown in the previous books. Students move from the train to the school without school robes, rather clad in modern clothing.

18. The scene in which Draco catches Harry spying on him on the train is preformed verbatim from the book, however Luna Lovegood, not Tonks, finds Harry with her Spectrespecs, and states she can see Wrackspurts all over him. Because Luna, replaced Tonks in saving Harry the movie doesn’t show Tonk’s Patronus.  Snape does not take Harry to the castle; instead, Harry and Luna walk by themselves. Hagrid is present in the Great Hall, instead of being in the forest with Grawp. Harry does not appear to be furious about Snape’s appointment as Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, nor are any D.A.D.A. classes shown throughout the film

19. Discussion about choosing subjects and questioning of Prof. McGonagall were also not included in the movie. Simply Professor McGonagall is seen in the corridor giving class schedules to students and then chastising Harry and Ron for laughing at the newer students. She then instructs Harry to take Potions lesson and to bring Ron with him. In the movie, when Harry and Ron entered the Potions class, they are both late, but Slughorn does not seem to have started the lessons yet. The two informed Prof. Slughorn that they do not have the required book, so Slughorn instructs them to get a book from the cabinet inside the room. When they see that there is only one new book left, they both grab for the new version of the book, titled Advanced Potion-Making. Ron successfully got the new book while Harry is left with the older copy, formerly property of the Half-Blood Prince. In the book both Ron and Harry get an old copy, with Ron’s even having what he described as looking like a vomit stain. In the book, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are the only Gryffindor students to take Slughorn’s N.E.W.T. Potions class. In the film, many other students are present in Slughorn’s class as well, including Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, Neville Longbottom, Padma Patil, Lavender Brown, Romilda Vane, and Katie Bell, despite Romilda and Katie not even being in the same year as Harry and the others. In the film, Crabbe and Goyle are in the class as well, despite the book specifically stating that they were not. Pansy Parkinson also appears, although in the novel there was one unspecified Slytherin student in the class with Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, and Theodore Nott.

20. Harry doesn’t get to know that the ring that Dumbledore has is actually a heirloom from the Peverell family. The movie doesn’t emphasise on the injury on Dumbledore’s hand or Harry’s insistence on asking him what caused it. Dumbledore only refers to Merope Gaunt as “Voldemort’s mother” when Harry asked about the ring. He tells Harry that the ring belonged to Voldemort’s mother, when in the book it was retrieved in the hands of his uncle Morfin. The Resurrection Stone mounted on the ring is cracked down the middle, right through the symbol of the Deathly Hallows. However, in the movie, the stone remains intact.

21. Instead of having each position try out separately (like in the book), Harry has all the positions play together, making it like an actual match without a seeker. Hermione does use the Confundus Charm against Cormac McLaggen, however the spell is whispered into her hand in order to hide the incantation. Also, the incantation she uses is not the correct one. It is revealed in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that the proper incantation is “Confundo“. In the film, Hermione says “Confundus.”

22. The scene where Harry, Hermione, and Ron meet Slughorn is moved from Honeydukes to the Three Broomsticks Inn. During the scene Slughorn mistakenly calls Ron “Wallenby”. This is presumably a reference to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where Mr. Crouch repeatedly calls Percy Weatherby. In the movie, they see Ginny, Dean and Malfoy around them, but in the book they were never around. Katie Bell is cursed by the necklace as in the book, and she is lifted into the air and silently screams with her head tilted back in a very frightening manner. As in the book, Hagrid comes and takes her to the castle, however Hagrid’s role on the whole is very diminished. Harry doesn’t meet Tonks and Mundungus Fletcher at Hogsmeade. In the book, Leanne is crying when she tells McGonagall about what happened, but in the movie she is calm

23. The memory of the Wool’s Orphanage doesn’t include talks of Tom Riddle hurting kids at the cave, which is essential to why he chose it as a Horcrux hiding place. Only a crude picture of the place is shown taped up on Riddle’s bedroom wall. In the novel, Dumbledore pours the memory into the Pensieve. In the film, he gives it to Harry to pour into the Pensieve. In the novel, Dumbledore accompanies Harry into the various memories; in the film, Harry is alone

24) The discussion between Harry and Hermione inside the Hogwarts Library is included. Romilda Vane was introduced but she doesn’t have dialogues. Madam Pince is not present in the movie. Professor Trelawney is not present, Eldred Worple, Sanguini and other guests were not introduced by Prof. Slughorn but Filch’s interruption holding Draco and telling everyone his gatecrashing is included. There is much less conversation between Draco and Snape. Snape only mentions to Draco that he has made an Unbreakable Vow, then Draco emphasised that he doesn’t need protection. Harry overhears the conversation in the corridor while hiding but without the use of the Invisibility Cloak

25)There are no Apparition lessons or examination taught by Wilkie Twycross. In the book, Ron and Lavender break up due to Lavender seeing Ron and Hermione coming down from the boys’ dormitory (not seeing Harry due to him hiding under his invisibility cloak) and assumes they were together

26)The Quidditch scene and Luna’s Quidditch commentary from this chapter have been cut.  The film doesn’t show Harry being admitted to the hospital wing, due to the absence of the Quidditch match.  No appearance nor mention of Dobby working in the Kitchen at the Castle, nor of Dobby and Kreacher tracking Draco for Harry. In the film, Ron mutters Hermione’s name while unconscious at the hospital wing with Harry, Hermione, Lavender, Ginny, Dumbledore, McGonagall, Pomfrey, Slughorn, and Snape present, and Lavender runs off in tears. This is how Ron and Lavender break up in the film.  Madam Pomfrey treating Ron at the Hospital Wing after he has been Poisoned. The visiting of Hagrid, Fred, George, Arthur & Molly Weasley for Ron while in the Hospital wing were not shown in the movie. The praising to what Harry’s did using a bezoar as a antidote to the poison is not mentioned by Fred but instead by Prof. Dumbledore.

27) Madam Rosmerta is cut from the film. Instead, Draco states he gave the necklace to Katie Bell, and also shows Dumbledore a the dark mark on his arm. Harry and Dumbledore Apparate directly to the Astronomy Tower, rather than riding broomsticks. Also, Dumbledore presumably Apparates them rather than Harry. Harry is not frozen by Dumbledore and is on the floor below the top of the astronomy tower looking up through floorboards at the events, and is seen by Snape on his way to Dumbledore. In the film Snape signals to Harry to remain quiet. Bellatrix Lestrange joins the Death Eaters at Hogwarts. The scenes in which the moniker “Half-Blood Prince” are explained in detail are whittled down to a single line in which Snape states “I am the Half-Blood Prince,” and walks off into the night. The meaning behind the title of the book and movie is cut. It isn’t found out why Snape was the Half-Blood Prince (He is half-blood and his mother‘s maiden name was Prince) Snape’s argument with Dumbledore, which took place at the Forbidden Forest at night and is overheard by Hagrid (Chapter 19), who disclosed to Harry in the book, is changed to taking taking place at the Astronomy Tower during the day, Harry arrives to overhear part of it and Snape leaves upon seeing Harry. This may be problematic to Deathly Hallows film, in Snape’s memories, since in the book, after Snape talked with Dumbledore, he told him about Harry being a Horcrux. If this conversation is indeed the one in the Astronomy Tower, it is unknown then how Snape would know about this. In the film, Draco shows Dumbledore that he has been branded with the Dark Mark, whereas in the book this is only an assumption by Harry, with no solid proof. In the novel, it is said that Dumbledore appeared frozen in the sky. In the film Dumbledore immediately falls over the railing and down towards the ground. In the novel, it says that a bright green light hit Dumbledore (Avada Kedavra), while in the movie, its more of a Cyan color. There IS no furneal scence fro Albus.

On a minor note:

WHY IN THE WORLD CAST NEW CHARACTERS FOR EACH MOVIE ESPICALLY THOSE WHO SHOULD BE IN THE “TRIO” ‘S YEAR OR EARLIER?  ALSO WHY CUT DOBBY’S ROLE FROM MOVIES 4, 5, & 6 (I mean it was one thing to remove Winky in movie 4 since after Harry meeting her since the entire time at Hogwarts in the kitchen she is constanly crying/drinking Butterbeer ((which makes house-elves drunk)) except at the end where she explains about how Crouch Jr. got out of Azkban)?
